Curated: Lupen Grainne

I simply adore the work of self-taught photographer, Lupen Grainne. Lupen is originally from Portland, Oregon...yes another local (I just discovered this), however she currently lives in Sonoma County, California.

The way she processes her photography is truly beautiful. Her images have this wonderful shimmering effect, like a gorgeous watercolor painting. Selecting six to put into this post was incredibly difficult, since I love them all! But...since I am crazy about travel, I focused on some of her stunning images from around the world...

You must check out her Etsy store, dreamy blog and amazing portfolio. Get ready to be utterly enchanted!

Curated: Mary Emma Hawthorne

Happy Friday!

Today, I've curated a collection of the amazing collages by the very talented Mary Emma Hawthorne. I love the graphic elements, juxtaposed with the sweet birds. Her compositions are perfectly balanced and her use of vintage ephemera is inspiring. The touches of thread and stitching adds further texture to these wonderful pieces. These selections are from her bird series.  See more from her gorgeous portfolio on her site and also visit her lovely blog.

Have a fabulous weekend! Check back in Monday for more art inspiration!

Curated: Lilly Piri

Lilly Piri's art truly captured my heart. She is a fellow Australian, so maybe I'm biased but I don't think so. One look at her amazing portfolio and you can't help but gaze at each composition. I enjoyed quietly exploring each one. Looking for meaning and understanding. Unfolding the dreamlike quality that each possesses. I especially appreciate the way she incorporates Australian animals and symbols into her work showing a deep connection to her roots. She currently lives in Germany so perhaps, through her artwork, she finds home.

She sells some of her prints and other objects via her Etsy store but check out her website to view her full portfolio and her blog, that displays her beautiful oil paintings.

Happy Wednesday!

Curated: Barbara Vidal - Dawn

With gray skies looming in my world, I couldn't help but be drawn to the golden light of Barbara Vidal's photography. To me, this figure is the embodiment of Dawn herself. How lovely is this depiction...

“tomorrow, dawn will come the way I picture her,
barefoot and disheveled, standing outside my window
in one of the fragile cotton dresses of the poor.
She will look in at me with her thin arms extended,
offering a handful of birdsong and a small cup of light.”

- William Collins

Hope the sun is shining in your sky.
